Radha Ashtami, also popularly known as the ‘Radha Jayanti’ is observed as the birth

anniversary of Radha, the reincarnation of goddess Lakshmi. Radha Ashtami is one of

the important festivals in Hindu mythology and is celebrated by devotees with

compassion and enthusiasm to commemorate the appearance day of Radha. 

This auspicious day is celebrated every year and falls on the eighth day of the Shukla

Paksha during the Hindu Lunar month of ‘Bhadrapada’. The day is celebrated by

devotes to honoring the selfless and famous bond of love between Lord Krishna and

Radha, a unique and pure relationship between humans and God. Special pujas and

prayers are organized by people in the temples across different parts of the country.

cleaned with panchamrita and she is adorned with new clothes and accessories.

After performing the aarti with lamp or incense sticks, the bhoga (prasad) is given to

Radha Rani and then to everyone at the end. On this day, dhoop, flowers, incense

sticks, Kumkum, shringaar items, Akshat, and roli are offered to the Radha Rani by

the devotees. Goddess Radha is worshiped by people during Madhyahna Kala (noon

time) and the Radha Ashtami mantra is chanted.
